step out of your ecological footprint

There’s an interesting and very illuminating Quiz to determine your ecological footprint I found. I hit 1.5 earths and an acre footprint of 7.

Want to reach 1.0 earths? (1) Become vegetarian, (2) don’t drive a car (3) live in 1-story dwelling with no running water, and use solar, oh and god forbid don’t fly.

The fuel you use to drive might be obvious, but I was reading an article which said that it takes 500,000 tons of emissions to fly from London to Miami, for one trip! Also vegetarianism might be another surprising one for some folks. Truth is it takes 10 times the resources to eat meat because you have to grow 10x the plants, use 10 times the land, water, and so on to raise those cows + chickens.
