chinese body-painted ladies
Shocking to see this on a Chinese website… or then again maybe the anti-red propaganda is getting to me too. Anyway, it’s a gorgeous site of gorgeous ladies painted. Work-safe depending, I guess…

Funny polaroid project where each previous polaroid is in the new one, iterating on into infinity…
If you like wacky ties, or have to wear one, and want a little controversy in the mix, check out some of these. You’ll find stylish art of microscopic bacteria. Everything from Anthrax to Chlamydia, Flu, and Plague. Though some of these might get a laugh, I wouldn’t recommend the ones for Breast Cancer.

I’ve always been impressed by Jaron Lanier. So whenever I find new writing or music by him, my interest is piqued. He has a new piece over at Edge - The Third Culture.
Though I don’t necessarily agree with his perspective exactly, his lectures, and writing are always insightful and full of interesting perspective. Here he speaks of Vegetal and mineral memory: The future of books. Though I don’t think stone writing and silicon have much in common, and that paper + stone probably have more in common in the sense of their longevity, the point that we should be concerned about the future of libraries, remains an relevant one.
Just watching Doctor Who - The Stones of Blood, and once scene takes place in Rollright, a stone megalithic circle in the UK. Anyway, I jumped on Google, and found this fascinating site which also features Stonehenge and Avebury two circles I actually had the luck to visit.
Kunstler has a funny bit on his site featuring architectural eyesore of the month.
Paranormal ice balls fall in Ohio. I wonder if people cried Holy Toledo.
Now until January 2nd there’s a great display in the Citicorp Atrium called The Station. If you like H.O. trains, this is quite an exhibit. Complete with a drive-in movie theatre which has a 4×6 LCD screen! Night/Day cycle is every 5 minutes or so. Here are my pics of the exhibit.
I stopped by to see this Lombardi show Friday, and it is everything you might guess and more. If you like conspiracy, if the buildup of Iraw and Saddam in the 80’s and 90’s interests you, if the causes of terror, and fraud on a worldwide scale interest you, this is the show to see. Ends this Thursday. Here are some pics.
This Winter Show is *NOT* to be missed. ITP is like an art/technology school all rolled up into one. Their SPRING and WINTER show are showcases of student
projects, stuff like interactive video art, interaction with the viewer, biometric type feedback, all sorts of stuff. Tech art that you interact
with. Really cool stuff. YOu should all check it out. Two of my friends are showing work there.
A fascinating article on how knowledge of human networks, and people who network most, and how to better use vaccine resources to prevent the spread of disease. The piece also suggests this may help us break up terror networks…
I just realized I have no topic for fashion, or anything related. Perhaps I need one. Anyway, according to boingboing these HAEFTLING German prison clothes are all the rage in Berlin. I can understand why. Check out this t-shirt and this bag. I’ll have to brush up my German skills…
This site Internet DJ looks pretty cool. News, events, downloads, radio. Looks like they use Post Nuke too. Cool.
Here’s proof.
“why the lucky stiff is a computer progg’er and aspiring author with no true achievements under his belt.”
A little commentary on current affairs a la some gorgeous Middle Ages stylised pieces. Great stuff.
I don’t usually mention geek tech shit, but this one of ten missives by Linus is pretty amusing. To me, attacking open source, and going after Linus Torvalds is like taking Ghandi to court. It’s not only rediculous, it’s sinking lower than slime mold.
4 Stealing Cars in Broad Daylight
“Do you steal a car in the bright daylight with a lot of people around? Or do you steal a car, go for a joyride at 4 am in the morning when there aren’t a lot of people around. With open source, there is a lot of daylight. A lot of people looking at the code. You don’t really go around and steal things.”
I love the picture of all these guys fondling the missile. Now this dongle can do some serious damage!
This guy is really banking on a bright future for marijuana legalization. He’s starting a Canadian company to package and distribute gange called Med Marijuana Inc.
This Japanese SAQ site is hilarious. Important questions:
Why slurp Asian noodles, but not Spaghetti?
Why do Yakuza cut off their little finger?
Can sumo wrestlers retract their testicles?…
And much much much more!!!! This is truely a great site of important information.
Yet another conspiracy to tuck under your belt. The CIA Assassination of John Lennon.
Strange new technology promises to iron out your blood. I’m not gonna be a ginea pig for this. I’m still afraid of Lasik surgery.
Funny book chronicles sex machines through a look at patent applications. American Sex Machines. Squeamish guys may want to avoid the page on anti-rape devices.
No conspiracy, but what other category do I have? An interesting piece The Five Geek Social Fallacies. My favorites are GSF5: “Friends do everything together”, and GSF4: “Wouldn’t it be great to get all my groups of friends into one place for one big happy party?!”
This piece is both funny, and revealing, as I think most everyone can confess to having felt at least one of the five…
Kinda funny. Everybody knows how easy it is to get dirt-cheap designer bags on Canal street. Walk down any day of the week. And you can be sure it’s no mystery to the police, so it seems the recent bust must be to show that something is being done. Fact is those fake bags help sell the real bags.
Well we all know that dancing is illegal in NYC. But perhaps it’s news to some that the cabaret laws are being reconsidered. Let’s hope so. Here’s a voice piece.
Dark Energy is what physicists say we can’t detect, yet the mathematics implies must be there for the universe to behave as it does. Enter the art of Angelbert Metoyer.
