water - the new ni-mo

Posted by admin on Oct 21 2003 | Uncategorized

Anyone who’s been around for a few years remember’s when the electric company, at least in upstate parts of New York, was called NiMo, short for Niagara Mohawk because of the huge water generating plant in Niagara Falls. Western-centrism + modern barbarism

Posted by admin on Oct 16 2003 | Uncategorized

chom-ping at the bit

Posted by admin on Oct 13 2003 | Uncategorized

Chomsky doesn’t stop until he’s unraveled the whole mystery. And whether you want to hear it or not, he’ll dish out the history so the picture that forms of more recent events suddenly fits into a cohesive form. You won’t like what you read, but it will tear apart any preconceived notions you have, and stand you naked in front of the brutal reality of it all.

anarchy, taoism, and chaos

Posted by admin on Oct 13 2003 | Uncategorized

Sure chaos is a popular buzzword. But it still always grabs my interest. It strikes at the intersection of science, and a deterministic universe, and religion, in all it’s vagaries.

spreading more than the word of the lord

Posted by admin on Oct 13 2003 | Uncategorized

The good church is at it again, spreading misinformation about condoms. In this case, that they don’t protect against AIDS. An abomination in some eyes, it’s hard to understand the church’s logic on this one…

Posted by admin on Oct 09 2003 | Uncategorized

Many folks have left their old-world religions for a secular life, while other’s have sought cults + fringe religions. Still other’s seek Eastern wisdom, while others turn inward. For the latter, Simulations of God looks to be a very interesting read.
